Kelly Rothgeb
My name is Kelly Rothgeb and this is my 27th year of teaching. This is my seventh year in GCISD and I'm thrilled to be here; especially teaching reading. I grew up in Lubbock and attended Texas Tech University for my undergraduate degree. I later obtained my masters degree from the University of North Texas. I'm married to Tim and we have 4 children ranging from ages 21 to 32. Not too long ago, my own children attended GCISD schools and graduated from CHHS. The youngest one is currently attending the University of Arkansas and the older ones are now out of college and working in Austin, Denver and the DFW area. I have lived in this area and been a parent in GCISD for many years.
This is an innovative, forward thinking district and I'm excited about being an employee in the district I've resided in for years. I come to BES having taught 1st and 2nd grades; as well as having been a Reading Recovery teacher, teacher leader and Reading Specialist for Kinder through 6th grade. When I'm not working, I enjoy scrapbooking, photography, watching movies, reading, spending time with my family, volunteering in the community, shopping and home decorating.
Thank you for entrusting your most precious child to me. I have a great deal of passion for teaching and learning. I hope to foster this love in all the students I am blessed to work with this year.
