"School nursing, a specialized practice of nursing, protects and promotes student health, facilitates optimal development, and advances academic success. School nurses, grounded in ethical and evidence-based practice, are the leaders who bridge health care and education, provide care coordination, advocate for quality student-centered care, and collaborate to design systems that allow individuals and communities to develop their full potential."  Adopted by the NASN Board of Directors February 2017.

I have been "Nurse Rebecca" at Bransford since 2003. I received my Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree from Slippery Rock University. I have been a nurse for over 40 years working in many different areas including Emergency Room, Orthopedics, and ENT. All which have prepared me for school nursing.

I too have been a Bransford parent. My husband Marty and I have 2 children that went to Bransford, Colleyville Middle and graduated from Grapevine High School. Our daughter, Regan, is a Veterinarian in Frisco. Our son, Brett, is an aerospace engineer working for Raytheon in Tucson, AZ.

My #1 priority is the health and safety of "all of my children" at Bransford. As a school nurse, I believe in the "Whole Child" approach and understand the importance of the link between student health and academic success.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have.
